The Army marches towards SSC - Good stuff!

A good week for the Army of Darkness with two raids fully clearing Karazhan with several days to spare. Leading the way was raid 1 with their first Nightbane kill on Thursday. Raid 2 wasnt to be outdone however with a follow up kill in the same week.

A superb raid on Thursday meant that Shade, Prince and most of the other minor inconveniences were dealt with swiftly leaving on attumen, Maiden, Netherspite and Nightbane left. As usual, Attumen and Maiden were swiftly dispatched of leading us on to our first ever attempts at Netherspite - attempts that started none too well. First attempt saw Hellrock move too swiftly into the room on his winged orcish sandals leaving the rest of the raid locked outside. The next attempt saw our first try at rotation within the beams. "I can do it" bragged an all too confident hunter as he stepped in front of the red beam

Turns out I couldnt do it

Not to be deterred we picked up, changed the rotation and a few tries later got it right

With spirits held high and to the all too familiar tune of the Muppets we headed off to visit Nightbane, our primary target of the week and the gateway to raiding progress beyong Magtheridon. Again, our ability to die all too easily held us back for a few attempts, but once again a new boss relented and fell to the floor in a flaming pile of bones defeated and humiliated by the aod steamtrain.

With 2 AoD raids and one shadowy raid having cleared Karazhan, SSC is now a dot on the horizon looming ever closer to becoming raiding reality.

Grats to the lucky recipients of tonights loot :Earendil, Kotaras, Itsari and mself

May it be the first kill of many

One Gronn deluxe, two epixx and a coke please!

Howdy ho! It has been known for some time now that our main raiding goal was the big badass of Gronn mountain, trying time and time again to cut him down to pieces to supply the Ole Nicodemus & Grumpy Donin Traditional Burger joint. After trying for a few weeks with various plans and strategies borrowed from mr. Coyote himself and getting royally served in the process, we decided to starve him to death by reducing his daily intake of melee DPS people. Once again, our team of interpid butchers set off for his lair, and after some minor delays due to wrong instance keys and the pathetic retards whose pinnacle of existance revolves around ganking instance entrances, we were ready for another set of tries.

Despite doing our best and receiving lots of inspirational abuse from the cosy voice of Donin, things were still not going that well. Although our shatter survival record was better this time, our DPS was still not up to the task. After more attempts, and some strategic planning we decided to make even more changes in the raid setup, bringing fourth the shadowtards out of their cages. Things picked up immediately, along with the aggro generation! After a highly inspirational 8% wipe, it was evident that all we needed was some more co-ordination and luck. Finally, all it needed was to turn the whole raid into shadowpriests as can be seen below :)

As usual, here's a pic of the brave butchering team (and a /cheer for the new faces in there).

Of course, there are a lot of unsung heroes that also deserve praise for their efforts into this whole endeavor, who deserve additional praise for bearing with my often roster rotations and other annoying experiments, on what is really extremely poor encounter design on the part of Blizzard. /salute you all.

Next stop, MagWipeathon
